Inked in Darkness
November 9, 2016
Night has inked in a dark void beyondthewindows. The day that began in blackness now ends that way. This morning Mother was up very early and would not return to bed. She needed more help and attention, so the usual solitude that I enjoy vanished and one thing piled on another till now I write before getting Mother to bed. She is carefully putting something that only her mind sees into piles and carefully talking to unseen people. She is so concerned that she get all the items into piles and will at times ask me to help her. She is beginning to tire and soon will be guided to her bedroom and prepared for sleep but that is no guarantee that she will sleep or stay there. That is why there are alarms on the doors. The house is filled with the smell of cakes cooling from an afternoon of cake making. One thing that Mother always enjoys eating and is soft enough for her.
The art work has taken several twists and turns and still is exciting as patches of light have turned to islands of ice and then back to light. The water of the pond moves silently over the stones and shadows create a biomorphic grid on the surface. The two trees have parted company and now march off in different directions–one toward a night sea the other in bright sun. The square pond is based on a red orange palette and now yellow leaves with tinges of green dot the surface. The water is clear but the light that reflects from it has a brick red glow to it. The colors are not ones I use often and I enjoy the challenge to make them work together. The seascape is coming to a close, I think. The waves and light create a magic that is restful and grand.
Hope you are finding your life in good shape and are content with the directions you have chosen. That you are planning actions that will be blessings both for you and others in your life. That you are finding more and more to be thankful for and that you share with others the bounty that you have. That compassion is a traveling companion of yours and sharing is a path you are walking down.
