Fuzzymorninglightseepedintothetreesand spread out into the garden as day began and we watched. The ups and downs of last night seem far away but the legacy of those interrupted hours are still felt. Mother from midnight on could not stay in bed longer than haft a hour or so at a time. Can feel the tiredness that even a couple of cups of coffee can not remedy and am sure I will not be as energetic as usual. Early rising is not new but the lack of Mother being able to sleep is and I hope it is a one time energetic. Mother shows no signs of being tired and has not fallen asleep in her chair as is her custom. Maybe the sun’s appearance will help fuel my energy, providing it does appear. The wood supply for winter is almost complete and plants and weeds are slowing their growth. Cool air flows over the land as fall begins to show itself. The blackberries have been so tasty of late. Can’t walk outside with out stopping for a handful. One of the joys of August.
New paintings continue to make progress and two of the pond series are about finished. The one I started a few weeks ago has made a dramatic change of direction and now a radiant sun reflects on the surface of the pond while a shadowy hand reaches toward it. The tension is striking and pleases me greatly. The orange abstract is finishing as well and its contrast between warm and cool hues creates a vivid vibration. The nocturne is about done too. So quiet and sedate it is like a frozen moment or a memory from childhood. The seascape wares the cloak of reflected light that dances on the ocean waves. Am beginning to sort which paintings will go where to show. A show at the museum will take three works and galleries will most likely take the rest. Always good to get the work out to be seen. The feedback helps me see if I have communicated effectively or not.
Mother is getting more rambunctious and so will close so we can go view what is going on in our world.
Hope you will find yourself surrounded by peace and joy and will share that with all you meet. That you are content with what you have and find it to be abundant for all your needs. That you will keep on looking for the good in others and yourself. That the days will be pleasant and cheerful to you.
