Misty Grey Morning
June 28, 2016
Greymist falls fromthe sky as the day awakens to find itself covered in cool sheets of cloud. The brilliant sunshine of a few days ago seems far removed from the soft defused light that now bathes the garden and trees. The fish look like orange lanterns bobbing below the tranquil surface of the pond. Mother is talking to the area around her about land and how to make good land. Her coffee sits patiently beside her. She slept better last night and I was able to get up in the night to take care of her needs and get her back to bed. Sometimes she is so lost that she does not register what she needs to do and it is better to get up at times and help her than deal with the aftermath. She enjoyed her Sunday with her friends at church and the rides afterwards to see the area around us. She has plans to do things but they disappear like the mist and so she waits for something to happen. Soon we will be off to drive around and see sights.
The art is going very well. The large 4’X4’ painting suddenly added a school of fish to itself and the result was beautiful. The oranges add a vibrancy to the whole. I had thought I would not use the images of fish in this work and it just said it needed it. The layering effect is enhanced and even more mystery is evident. The seascape I have started is ready for the light to dance across it. I am excited to see how it develops and if I can capture the feel of warm light skimming the surface of the waves. I have an abstract coming along. Orbs of orange and leaves of cobalt and black have started the process and I think it will lead to good things. I am also working on a smaller pond painting, 3’ X 3’, that is work out well so far. I wanted to see if the rocks and reflections can achieve even more depth.
I have done some work outside in the yard of late and that seems to be well but it goes slowly. I found a ground hive of bees and was fortunate that I only was stung 3 times. I am giving them a wide space as I walk by. The flowers are beginning to withdraw and now greens are the primary colors for yard and garden. Though the lavender is still in full bloom and of course dandelions are everywhere it seems.
Hope you are finding the days gentle and filled with the sweetness of peace. That joy floods around you and lifts you up and takes you to wonderful experiences and good friends. That you see beauty and hear laughter everywhere you go. That stress is fading and you are finding comfort in your skin. That you will not miss out on things you can do to help others and find the strength it gives you to carry on in life.
