Pearl Grey Light
May 17, 2016
Softpearlgrey light washesthe night fromthegarden and illuminates the world around us. The chill of early morning is diminishing while foliage gently dances to the wind’s unseen music and the antics of birds on their appointed ways. Mother sits in her chair sipping her second cup of coffee and talking to the wall about things only she is privy to. She is in pain, though mainly when she tries to get up. She fell this past week trying to leave the bathroom via the shower. She just lost her way and tripped over the edge of the shower, falling on her side. I was able to get her up and she was just shaken up. Then about six hours later she did it again. This time she banged her chest side and it has been very sore since. No real damage but a lot of hurt. It is one of those slow recovery type of things. She went to church yesterday and got by. I am getting up every few hours in the night to get her to the bathroom and back into bed. She does not have the strength to get up by herself. She forgets why she is sore and can’t figure out why she hurts. At least she is eating and doing well otherwise.
The art has been slowed down by Mother’s condition some and I have been working on finishing up projects. The last batch of fish is swimming towards completion and looks very handsome. Working on the 4’ X 4’ work and I have the background about done. It is developing a feeling of mystery and of a story set in a strange unknown location. The next few weeks will return the paintings facing the wall for their evaluation as to being finished or not. I’m not sure what is lurking in my mind for new works but can sense things are forming. I will just have to wait to see what makes an appearance.
I hope you are finding the process of waiting is not difficult or tiring but a place to rest and look at what is around you. That you will not be impatient at the speed things reveal themselves or think the time is wasted. That you will enjoy the times between activity as much as the activity itself. That the days will be sweet and joyful and so will you.
