Jewelscoat the surfaces of everything in the garden, glistening in the warm light. The rain that beat its drum during the night has been banished and birds are singing and flying around the trees and the rhodies have put on hats of bright blooms. The flowers bounce in the gentle breeze as it meanders through the verdant grounds. Mother seems bright and cheerful this morning after a fairly good nights sleep and sips coffee while trying to make out what is going on. The sun makes pools of light on the floor and she finds these happy as she tells me stories about them and the good times they are having. The repeated questions about her family and her need to see her Mother and Father have lapsed for a few minutes and she has found some other thoughts to follow through her mind. The fire has taken the edge of coolness out of the room and she warms her hands in the fire’s warm glow. Not really cold, just enjoying the extra heat.
Paintings continue to come together in hues that ignite their surfaces and blaze forth. The new large painting is fixed in the paths it will follow and channels of stones pave the surface in patterns that define the shallow pools of water. There is a suggestion of gently moving current that envelopes rather than pushes the liquid surface. Already I can see how movement in the work blends and dances in a slow waltz. It is a pond of the summer more than the spring as slow and relaxed is more of the heat of days than the crispness of spring. The seascape is glowing further with the silvery light of the moon as it caps the waves and adds magic to the waters. The blooming trees is about done; I keep saying that and seem to find more to add to it. Have received word that some of the new work has interested galleries, so guess they soon will be on their way. The vibrant trees with masses of neon greens and splashes of golden sunlight are coming together and laugh in the beauty of spring. The studio is alive with intense color and is making me most joyful.
Hope you are having days of laugher and your heart is dancing in the beauty you see around you. That you are smiling and shaking the doldrums of winter from your mind and redecorating with the hues of flowers and new growth. That you’re finding it easy to share your joy with others and enjoy the beauty they share with you. That song fills your mind and your eyes light up with peace and hope.
