A softrain has given up and now light peersthrough thegarden. The morning begins to spotlight tree tops as the heat from the fireplace warms the house. Mother sits toasting her hands in front of the fire and then breaking to sip coffee and stare out the windows. Long conversations with walls and furniture begin and she smiles and greets each one and complements each on looking so good. This will last till her eyes close and she will go into a sleep/awake state and then wonder what she is supposed to do with all the objects that surround her. Before long we go on our morning drive and that will hold her attention as the world passes by and she creates a story for each thing that registers in her mind. They are always happy stories, full of people eating and talking. Last night was restless and her sense of time had her up several times. This morning she could not fathom why she should not chew her pills and dissolve them in her mouth. I spent time working with her to take her pills. Sometimes, it is as though she has never done something before. Then she will do the tasks without any problem. There is no predictability in our days. Each day is a surprise with new learning.
The art has been coming along very well; with each day the paintings become more complete. The trees in bloom are filled with vibrant pink and white flowers overflowing the branches and cascading like waterfalls down the trunks. The figure in the reflections piece continues to add mystery to the composition and holds the viewer. The lily pad piece grows more complex and more unified. The surface is textured visually with the overlap of shadows and forms. There is a static feeling and yet it feels like it could fly apart at any moment. One of the other works has a sky that clashes with clouds and the sapphire sky as a silvery moon casts light from a hidden spot. Another one has abstract shapes floating on a sea of light greens and blues. So far, there is no order but only a random placement that is gradually making a pattern.
The sun is pouring in and the wash machine is about done and Mother is ready to see the world so I will close.
Hope that you will find bright sunny paths to travel and have the peace and presence to enjoy what you find. That you will be content with what you have and share that with others. That you will look for the best in others and not the worst. That you will find the joy in seeing flowers and blooms and will listen to the songs of birds.
