Inky darkness has changed to coolgraylight as the morning silently creeps into the skylights and gently illuminates the garden trees and plants. Rain drops fall casually creating a muffled drum beat mostly overpowered by music. Mother is quietly talking to herself as she cradles her coffee and stares at things only she can see. The night’s stillness was broken a few times last night and this morning all is forgotten by Mother even though at the time it seemed major to her. Soon we will go on our morning ride and she will delight in seeing the world from her moving chair car. She seems more at home and even if she cannot find things around her like the bathroom or the like she seems more relaxed about it.
The art is going well and I have three larger canvases moving ahead. Dark branches reach across blue sky waiting for the blooms to burst forth and cover them while rocks with unknown symbols form a wall of uncertain meaning. A dark pond waits as stones emerge from the deep waters and light dances on the surface. Moonlight does a slow waltz on ripples as a velvet cloaked world watches. I would be further along but some dental work has slowed the process down a bit. I have panels ready to start: a pond being filled by small streams that flow over rocks and sink into a deep aquatic world where orange flashes move in total silence and shadows hide objects just out of eyesight reach. I am enjoying the images of a world where all is not seen or able to be seen yet it does not create fear and there is plenty of beauty to find comfort in. I think new works will play on the theme of being comfortable with uncertainty. Life is so full of that and there is a strange satisfaction with knowing that you will never know and being able to live without the stress of having to know. Also, it allows for others to write their stories of what is going on, creating their world view and exploring themselves.
I hope you are joyful celebrating your journey in a world that provides surprises and is unpredictable. That you will be able to live without knowing everything and what you do know will be a pleasant place for you. That you have hope and peace and that gives you what you need whenever you find the unexpected. That your days will be filled with joy and others who you love and are with.
