Songs of Migration
October 13, 2015
The sun has broken through the wall of fog and the sound of geesefills the morning air. Large rafts of birds float on the bay and little by little they climb into the still air and begin to coalesce into V formations as they shoot across the skies. Mother has had to move twice to avoid the hot rays of sun that strike the living room and chase her from her chair. The coffee cup moves with her as a companion on the search to find a pleasant place to be. Mother woke several times but was able to go back to sleep last night. She becomes more unsure of her surroundings and last week before bed she asked me what her name was. This ebb and flow continues always dipping but never coming back to where it once was. We laugh and try to make light of the changes but I think both of us are aware of bonds that hold less tightly than before. We try to tie our boats closer together and hold hands as we journey down this stream that is always in change.
The house sale continues its own strange journey; after a placid beginning a snarl but it seems to be resolving itself and I hope we will soon close and move to our new place.
The large paintings are finishing up and it is like a boat yard where the ships will soon be launched to wherever they are bound for. The large figure has reached a point where more will not add to it but take away from it. So now it rests drying and facing the wall, then it will be checked again and, if finished, then off to see how others will be impacted by it. The snow covered trees are beautiful. Quiet and serene they stand bathed in light as snowflakes of gold pour down on them. The painting has a magic like feel that is both cold and refreshing at the same time. The pond painting is getting more complete as the days go by. The fish are beginning to dance below the surface and lily pads look like metallic shields protecting the vibrant water. The moon and trees dance has a mystical almost hidden feeling to it. As though the trees know something that no one else does. The other works are working out as well.
I hope you are finding your life working out well. That you are seeing things change in ways you appreciate and enjoy. That you are able to let the change come and not fight it. That the days are filled with the sounds of flying birds and smells of sweet fall. That the days and nights bring you peace and joy.
