Reflections on a Grey Day
May 6, 2015
A grey shadehas beenpulled downafter days of bright sun and the world is bathed in the softness of warm fog. Mother is able to sit in peace while she drinks her coffee and not dodging the harsh rays of the rising morning sun. She is listening to classical music as she casts her sights through the windows to the world waking and beginning it’s new work week. Cars, boats and even a helicopter make their way over the bay and bridge on their appointed errands. Mother seems fully awake this morning after a restless and roaming night. She was not able to sleep and several times she slammed doors and wandered the house thinking she had to get home. I joined her on her wanderings and then got her back to bed to try to sleep some. Some times more successful than others. I can feel the lack of sleep and hope tonight we both get better sleep. The projects around the house continue and I see the end in sight for them to be finished.
Am enjoying the new paint and a yard sculpted into more pleasant shapes and missing some of the weeds that had tried to make their home there. The jutting bursts of flowers that explode from verdant plants give the place a festive and jubilant feel. The awaking from winter’s hold to spring’s abandon creates an energy that seems to flow to the heart and the fragrance makes the mind pulse with joy. Growth seems ubiquitous filling every space with new life, making puddles of bright hues and emerald shades in a freeform pattern. Can feel the pull of the studio more each day. Ideas are now becoming a stream of images and I can sense the need to take up the brush and turn them into paint. Maybe next week the work on the house and yard will lessen and I can spend time once again recording my journey on tablets of canvas and panel with the stylus of a brush. More images are bubbling up from the image of the pond. As though held deep they have broken their bonds and are floating to the light of the surface and revealing their nature. So much to explore. So much to experience. So much to share.
Hope you are finding much to share with others and basking in all the beauty that surrounds you. From flowers, skies and flashing water ideas and joy wash over you cleaning you from the past and watering the future helping you grow strong and glorious. That victory in its true sense is the ship you sail on to discover the land you were meant to inhabit and that land will be rich and fertile. That you will grow into that which you should be. That you will not settle for anything but the very best for your life.
