Dancing in the Wind
March 17, 2015
Treesbouncelikefitnessbuffsdoingjumpingjacks in the morning wind as the last vestige of the storm from yesterday makes its way to some other place. Rain puddles dot the sidewalk and reflect the cool golden sky back into the heavens. With a roar the sun pounces into the room from a break in the clouds and blinds Mother sitting in her chair. I suggest she change chairs to avoid the brilliance but she prefers to stay in her place and continues to feast upon her coffee. Her night was good and she did not get up often, so both of us got a good sleep. She did have problems at breakfast as her mind seemed stuck in some heavy traffic of thought. Little by little she is becoming more aware of things around her and in the activity of the world around her. Dressing is becoming harder for her to understand, though once dressed she seems happy to be wearing clothes that are pretty and very nice according to her. I have learned what a parent feels when they get their child up and the child wants to wear something strange or maybe I just have become a member of the fashion police.
The pond/person painting is coming along well. The colors are meshing together and there is a feel of unity about the work. I have been enjoying the way the shapes are working together to create a beautiful whole. The imagery continues to reveal more of where it/I am going. The absence of fear/worry/concern or negative feelings is the most surprising element of this paintings process. Normally there is a bit of concern about how much I share with the viewer, I do not seem to have that apprehension now. It is as though this a more relaxed me, content to share without having to guard. It is certainly a more joyous experience that has a great deal of excitement for me and hopefully for the viewer as well. The explorations of the fish ponds in the works I started are evolving well and the forest landscapes are coming to life. They are nocturnes and the pale light of the moon bathes the sky and the vegetation with a soft warm glow. They are a bit romantic in feel and so far do not cross the line into sentimental cliche. I hope to keep them that way, too. I am thinking of starting some work dealing with the ripples on the surface of the water and how they both open and close windows to see what is happening below the surface of the water: to find what the water is covering and what that creates.
The string from Mother shows she is ready to see the world from a different vantage point so we will go on our daily drive and see the sun drenched world.
I hope you will have days filled with the joy of being who you are and sharing that with those around you. Like flowers that grow and populate the most unexpected places let your beauty and fragrance be shared with those who notice and are looking for more than busyness.
We can all make the world around us better by sharing.
Keep strong in who you are and be a blessing to those around you.
